Last September, the Montana Farm Bureau announced its 'Ag in Color' Drawing Contest for 2021 as part of their Montana Youth Agriculture Literacy program. The contest consisted of seven entry categories and is designated for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.
The categories include areas specific to Montana Agriculture and are different for each grade.
Kindergarten – Farm Animals in Montana
Grade 1 – Grown in Montana
Grade 2 – Grains of Montana
Grade 3 – Cattle in Agriculture
Grade 4 – Noxious Weeds in Montana
Grade 5 – Safety on Montana Farms and Ranches
Grade 6 – Agricultural Related Careers in Montana
Many of Phillips County schools took part in this years' contest. The winners of each group were then sent on to the state competition in which one winner from each category/grade level will be selected. The winners along with their families will be guests of Montana Farm Bureau at an award luncheon in Helena, MT. The winners and their families will tour Helena and meet state dignitaries prior to the luncheon.

Third Grade; First Place – Mariah Hould(HS) HM; Kassidy Modic(M), Riya Salveson(M)
Fourth Grade; First Place - Rhylee Kelley(M) HM; Dax Math(M), Titus Wiederrick(M), Chevelle Red Eagle(M)
Fifth Grade; First Place – Kayla Ottinger(M) HM; Klohie Zeiger(M), Hoyt Mahan(M)

Saco's own Rowdy Beil was selected as the state winner for the Kindergarten class.
