March Malta School Board Meeting

Malta Public schools held their monthly school board meeting on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.

To start the meeting, the board approved the minutes from their regular meeting on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. The Administrative reports were then given.

The School Board then addressed action items. The first of which was passing the resolution for SB307. (See Graph on Page 4A) With this passing, the Malta Board of Trustees estimates zero changes on any levies that have been imposed for the next school fiscal year beginning on July 1, 2021.

They then passed some minor contracts for sports coaches, the Hammond land transfer request, and the shower replacement proposal.

The School calendar was tabled.

During the Public Comment portion of the meeting, Darlene Kolczak, County Superintendent of Schools, reported that Whitewater is running a school bus 18 miles into the Malta School District, and she told them to stop. There is no permission for them to enter the Malta district and she would recommend that the School Board reject the request should it be made.
