On Wednesday, March 3, the Malta Area Chamber of Commerce held their monthly Merchants Meeting.
Kathy Olson from Independence Bank stated that they are busy with the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
Jolynn Messerly, new owner of Prairie Designs, just finished with the District C Basketball Tournament. They are now gearing up for the AAU Wrestling Tournament held on March 7, at the Malta Highschool.
Mardy Demarais from Patty’s Floral, is putting out Easter and St. Patrick’s Day décor. She is also getting ready for the planting season.
Melissa from KMMR is gathering State Basketball ads for airing on the station.
Jim Dumas from Hi-Line Packing stated that they are still doing renovations at Hi-Line Market.
Julie Snellman from Arts Furniture reported that some appliances are showing up quicker than others.
Jim Dumas discussed ideas for circulating Christmas Scrip. Easter was brought up by asking chamber businesses to participate in an Easter egg hunt. The business would fill a dozen eggs with candy and supply ten prize coupons. The eggs will then be given back to the Chamber at a date to be determined.
The Chamber’s Annual Membership Meeting is scheduled for March 16, at the Tin Cup.
On April 17, laser tag will be held at the Malta Pavilion. The Summer Festival and Crazy Days are scheduled for July 8th-11th.
The next Merchants Meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 7.
