Healthcare Foundation to host March Madness Fundraiser

First event since 2019, due to 2020 cancellation

The Health-Care Foundation of Phillips County, along with the Lucky Bullet, will be holding their eleventh Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament Calcutta on Tuesday, March 16. The event will start at 6:30 PM at the Lucky Bullet.

The Health-Care Foundation is a non-profit organization that started in 1992 with the goal of assisting the Phillips County Hospital, Nursing Home, Clinic, and Ambulance. They don’t help individuals, they help the community as a whole.

The foundation’s President, Craig French said, “The last item that we assisted the hospital on was a chemical analyzer to aid with the blood work stuff that they do every day. That was a major investment. And the Hi-Line Retirement Center needed repairs on a walk in cooler and a replacement of a stove. Those are the two most recent donations that they received from us. These were made from donations that we have received from the people of Phillips County. We are just the messenger that allows it to happen.”

Rules for the Calcutta are as follows:

1 – There will be no minimum bid requirement.

2 – All teams won in the Calcutta must be paid for that night.

3 – Pay-out starts at the second round, all the way to the championship.

The Health-Care Foundation gets 10% of the total bid on all of the teams. The remaining 90% will be Paid Out!

Come join the Health-Care Foundation and the Lucky Bullet for a night of fun and fundraising!

French said “I’m always surprised at how well this is supported by the community.”
