One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for February 24, 2021

“Get well” to Diana Simanton and Pat Anderson.

Hello, here’s hoping everyone is well, and no one has the C-19 virus. Several I know have had shots. It’s basketball tournament time. Good luck to all teams, remember to be good sports. It is “Lenten season.” Whitewater Lutheran Church has services on Wednesday eves. Soup supper will be served at 5:30 PM Wednesday’s, followed by Lenten service at 6 PM. All are welcome. Easter Sunday is April 4, 2021. There will be a Daylight Savings Time change, it is “spring forward” “fall back,” turn clocks ahead one hour.

Many people, including Sally Austin, are doing home taxes. Lu Bessel is out of town doing people’s taxes. It’s too bad that taxes are complicated. If anyone has any news or stories call me at 674-5576 (Let it ring) or write to me. It’s good to read Pat Murdocks “North Whitewater news” I don’t get up that way often. Also, a “shout out” to Dixie Stordahl and Dodson news writer (Eldora Henry). Good job, ladies. In my columns, I try to compare, the past, present, and certainly the future. It is really hard to keep up with and report. I do not have internet, e-mail, Facebook, or others. I do have radio and TV, so I try to keep up. Life news was so much simpler when I grew up in the Whitewater school area.

Here’s the weather report from Whitewater Weather Bureau. It has been really cold; below zero or worse! I feel sorry for ranchers feeding cattle and livestock in winter. I feel sorrier for all the animals outside in cold weather. Think spring, as always.
