One Nation, Under God
Things have been weird this year. Some good. Some bad. Some odd.
I will say. It seems that maybe to some extent, people have been nicer to each other. I think with the quarantines going on, people seem to be putting a lot of their differences aside.
Maybe.
I see the occasional jabs between Democrats and Republicans on social media, but it seems tamer to an extent.
Of course, demeanors have shifted. Hypocrisy is witnessed on both sides. People from one side are saying the exact opposite of what they said last election and visa-versa.
I don’t get it. I say vote and move on. People put too much stock into politicians that at the end of the day, don't seem to care about the people. They care about their brand. They care about your vote. They care about you fighting for them no matter how moral or immoral it is.
I don’t understand why we let political ideologies pollute our minds and our hearts and ruin the relationships with those are around us.
People all over the country are dying and if my last words to my folks or any of my family were we need a break or how could you support (insert a political figure), I wouldn’t be able to live with myself.
I do not understand what makes grown men and women revert to childish bickering based on political affiliation or preference.
When kids were throwing up gang signs of preference in school, I refused to be a part of that life. I am my own man.
I do not care to be a part of any political party. Never have and I likely never will. I have no interest in becoming so blinded by either side that I can’t love my neighbor as myself. I refuse to let the unreasonableness of political decisiveness become so strong in my life that I idolize either side.
There are more than two types of people in the world, yet we continue to show that elephants and donkeys can put us in one of only two boxes.
