Malta School Board holds February Meeting

Malta Public Schools held their monthly school board meeting on Wednesday, February 10.

During the meeting, the board approved the minutes from their last meeting on January 13.

Malta Elementary Principal Corey Clark, Malta Middle School, and Malta Highschool Principal Shawn Bleth, and Transportation Director Pat Sargent, each gave their Administrative Reports.

The School Board then addressed action items. The first action item was to approve the 2020-2021 contracts. The second action item was a Resolution to Call for School Election, this was passed 5-0, all members present voting. The third action item is the 2021-2022 school calendar; this included discussing extending the length of the day, as well as less teaching days and more professional development Days. No action was taken. The fourth action item was the 2021-2022 certified staff contracts. Superintendent Matt Genger presented the list of certified tenured, non-tenured teachers and principals. The list was approved by all present members. The fifth and final action item is First Reading of Board Policies, no action was taken.

Superintendent Matt Genger then gave his report to the board.

The regular board meeting is set for Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 7:00 PM in the work room of the Malta High School.
