Montana Viewpoint: "This is an attack on American energy and union jobs"

Less than 36 hours. That's all it took for Biden to kill American energy security and independence.

Yesterday, (Wed., January 20) Biden pulled the plug on the Keystone XL Pipeline and re-entered the United States into the Paris Climate Agreement. Tonight, it was announced that Biden will stop all new oil, gas and coal leases on federal lands.

As Senator Daines put it on twitter: "This is an outright attack on American energy and union jobs."

He's right. America has an energy demand that must be met. It will either be met by American workers or the Middle East.

This war on American energy is not about "protecting the environment" or "reducing emissions." By focusing on innovation not regulation, the U.S. is reducing its CO2 emissions more than any other country. In fact, CO2 emissions in the U.S. fell 15% since 2007. Daines has championed REAL solutions to reduce emissions and create jobs by passing bills that invest in the next generation of technologies, bolstering hydropower and streamlining permitting for renewable energy.

By the way, what about conservation programs like the Land and Water Conservation Fund? Guess what FUNDS that program? Oil & gas. So... no more oil & gas... no more conservation program.

The hypocrisy is real, folks. This isn't really about the environment or reducing our carbon footprint. This whole charade is about yielding to radical environmentalists. It's about propping up groups like the Center for Biological Diversity and the Sierra Club.

Will reporters call out the hypocrisy and state the facts? Will the perspective from working class Americans, and those who rely on energy jobs to provide for their families, be included in stories? Or will it just focus on talking points and press releases from the Left?

Thanks,

Katie
