One Nation, Under God
The Malta Chamber of Commerce and the Malta Merchants are giving local customers several ways to celebrate the holidays as well as shop local this season.
“The Malta Chamber of Commerce Merchants are thankful for our local customers while realizing things are different this year,” Malta Merchants President Julie Snellman told the PCN. “Many merchants are still having great sales and can help you with your Christmas shopping needs.”
The month long list of events starts with Home Town Black Friday, in which stores across town will be holding Black Friday sales, and will conclude on Christmas Day.
The month long event will also include Sunday Openings for four weekends, starting this Sunday, November 28. According to Snellman, Sunday Openings give customers a chance to see what local stores have to offer.
“It's often a more relaxing shopping environment because you aren't squeezing it in during the week and some stores offer extra sales or discounts on their Sunday openings,” Snellman said.
The Chamber and Merchants have also worked together to present “Jolly to Malta’s Holly,” an event that showcases local merchants during Small Business Saturday.
In conjunction with Santa Night on December 7, is the annual Parade of Lights. The parade will start after float makers line up at the Hi-Line Retirement Center at 5:30 p.m. There will be prizes for the best floats from the Malta Chamber. Participants can call Kathy at 654-2700 for more details.
The 2Nd Annual Scavenger Hunt will be held on Monday, December 21, from 5 -8 p.m. Participants will “hunt” for stockings hidden at participating stores.
“Stocking are filled with candy and/or special coupons and one stocking with the GRAND PRIZE coupon redeemable for $100 Dino Dollars,” Snellman said.
