Boys & Girls Club to open at 2 pm on Wednesdays

Parents will be relieved to know that Malta Boys & Girls Club is standing in the gap as a safe place for your children to go each day afterschool, including the new early release at 2pm on Wednesdays, beginning December 2nd.

Malta Boys & Girls Club is open Monday through Thursday afterschool until 5:30pm. They are funded through a Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant and this community’s generous donations. Malta Boys & Girls Club afterschool program is free of charge and open to all students enrolled in school ages 5-18. Parents are required to fill out a membership forms before students may attend the program. The Club takes the utmost precaution to keep your child safe and follow a COVID-19 plan approved by the County Health Department.

The program offers a free healthy snack and daily academic activities. Staff include: Executive Director: Carol L. Smith; Club Director: Sonia Young; Front Desk Coordinator: Gina Lamb; Homework Help/Education Center: Elaine Stannebein and Jenna Waters; Arts & Crafts Center: Josie Bergraff; Games & Recreation: Hailey Nicholson and David Pittman; and Teen Center: Hope Anderson.

Parents are always welcome to take a tour of the Malta Boys & Girls Club. The afterschool program is located at 101 South 7th Street West.
