One Nation, Under God
11-11. This is election day, November 3, 2020, and maybe by tomorrow we will know who the president and other candidates are in their offices. More on the election next week.
Happy birthday to all November birthdays, and those who are celebrating November wedding anniversaries.
Get well to all who are sick, especially those who have the Corona 19 virus. Take precautions, so you don’t catch the virus.
Today, a man from Triangle Communications named Tyson out of Havre came to upgrade my telephone. He hooked up the phone to the cables that were set before. The phone number works really well.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jace Anderson on the new baby! Debbie Anderson is the proud grandma.
There were some trick-or-treaters out on Halloween, and I had about 15 of them, one who was a dinosaur. I passed out candy. It was purchased at a store. My mom used to make donuts from scratch and give them out. Delicious.
Congratulations to the Whitewater Penguins and North County Mavericks on their good games of volleyball at the tournament. Also, good job to the cross country runners. Good work.
Today is beautiful weather here in Whitewater. It is sunny and warm with no wind. I hope it stays nice like this.
Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away! The Christmas holidays are right behind. It’s not too early to plan menus and do Christmas shopping. I have already done most of my shopping.
As always,
Helen A.
11-18. International News! Congratulations to President Biden on his election! Wonderful! Also to Vice President, Kamala Harris, good luck to both!
Back to Phillips County . . . sympathy to the families and friends of Pat Murdock’s brother Les, as well as my friend Virginia Koss and Eva Solberg Bruckner (she was Orvin Solberg’s mom), and sympathies to any other families suffering a loss this week.
Congratulations to the Whitewater Penguins and North Country Mavericks Volleyball team on good games. Soon, basketball season begins on December 7, 2020.
“Greetings from our North Pole!” Whitewater got about a foot of snow, and if the cold weather of winter starts this early will be a LONG winter! I hope not.
Between the bad weather and the C19 virus, I have not gone many places, or got a chance to gather news this week.
If you have news or stories, call me at 674-5576 and let it ring ten times. Thanks!
Also thanks to our Whitewater snowplow operators, the Hellie boys. Good Job!
Ree Simonson is moving to Malta. We will miss you, Ree; hope you come back to visit often.
Some of our “snowbirds” are thinking of going south soon. Geese and most birds have gone south. They are smart.
Early Happy Thanksgiving! Here is an easy recipe:
For the filling, mix: 1 can of sweetened condensed milk with 1 small can of pumpkin filling, and add cinnamon and/or vanilla and one egg. Stir well, pour into a prepared graham cracker crust, and chill at least two hours.
Top with whipped cream and enjoy!
Helen A.
