One Nation, Under God

Loring News for November 15, 2020

With all the crazy things we blame on 2020, including the crazy weather, sickness, bad roads, a new case of arthritis, or a bad sliver, it gives me hope and calms me to realize that the cycles of the moon, planets, meteor showers, and even the slow passage of the sun from north to south are still predictable and happening right on schedule!

Sympathy sent out from our community to the families of Dorothy Johnson, who passed away Sunday in the Sweet Memorial retirement home! She was a teacher of mine and also a colleague! She will be missed!

Charles and Tina Russell recently returned from a vacation in Tampa. They had a great time visiting friends and laying in the sun! But also got a little weather in the form of Eta. Mostly wind and rain but still a hurricane! They arrived in Malta to icy, snow packed roads! But got into their cozy homes and are happy to be in their own beds!

I enjoyed a lovely dinner with Pete and Carol Lumsden and Whitney and Jay Blunt and children one day this week.

Connie Wasson hosted the Bible study this week. Five ladies attended and had a rousing discussion and a delicious dessert! Thank you, Whitney, for driving!

Loring Lutheran church will not meet next Sunday but will meet every Sunday of Advent which starts on November 29. Even if 2020 kicks our behind, try to be kind!
