Miramon Charged, Initial Appearance held on October 27

One month after the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation spurred by allegations made on social media, Ernest Miramon, Jr. has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, both felonies.

According to court documents, Miramon, who was arrested at his Malta home on October 18, is currently being held on a $500,000 bond in the Valley County Detention Center. He has been ordered to make his initial appearance before District Court Judge Yvonne Laird on Tuesday, October 27th at 3:30 p.m.

He is charged with Count I, Sexual Assault, A Felony, committed in Malta, Phillips County, Montana, on or between 2006 and 2013, and Count II, Sexual Assault, A Felony, committed in Malta, Phillips County, Montana, on or between 2010 and 2013.

All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Montana Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
