H. M. Kirton was unanimously chosen to fill the vacancy created by the death of Dr. G. W. Clay. A meeting of the republican committee was called by Chairman Harry Whitcomb. A motion to name Kirton was made by Charles Ross of Dodson and seconded by Harry Vagg of Saco.

Mrs. Herb Stucke accepted a position in the office of the clerk and recorder to succeed Miss Alice Crowley who had resigned.

The County Fair was pronounced a great success with a record attendance.
