VFW Essay Contest open to high school students

“Is This the Country the Founders Envisioned?”

In these troubling times as we look back to vision what our founding fathers worked towards to help build our great America, what all the soldiers fought for, it is indeed saddening.

The deadline is October 31, 2020, so put your thoughts together, put on paper, record your 3-5 minute essay on audio CD or flash drive and mail to Sharon Kindle, VFW Scholarship Chair, PO Box 381, Malta, 59538. All entries must be postmarked by midnight October 31, 2020.

All grades 9-12 enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the U.S., territories, and possessions are eligible to enter. Information has been mailed to the county’s high schools.

Judging criteria is based on Originality: 30 points; Content: 35 points; and Delivery: 35 points.
