One Nation, Under God
Shanghai, Anyone?
The Malta Senior Center is hoping to garner interest in the game of Shanghai, a form of rummy.
The idea was presented to the board in the hopes of forming a group(s) of people interested in playing or learning the game. It is an involved game and can be lengthy but guarantees to provide hours of entertainment.
Shanghai can be researched on the Internet to gain some knowledge of how it is played and scored, however, there will be a couple who would tutor’ you while playing.
If interested, please call Barb Steven-654-1392; Leonard and Margaret Leader-654-1089; or Sharon Kindle-654-4283.
The cost is minimal-$1.00 an evening and need not be a member to play although it is encouraged at only $15.00 per year. Entry fees are distributed to the winners.
Another event at the center is the annual Indian Taco dinner which was originally planned for September 19 but because of COVID19 concerns was rescheduled to October 24 beginning at 11:30-1:00. The transit bus may be available, take-outs will be provided as usual.
The center is also doing the annual ANYTHING GOES raffle with three baskets to be drawn for. The baskets are fun-filled ‘dukes’ mixture with something for everyone. Members will have tickets available.
