The Milk River Wagon Train Association has announced the route for the 51st Annual ride. This will be one of the most scenic routes ever, crossing Stinky Creek, Whitewater Creek and the Milk River 4 times
Participants are asked to gather on Wednesday, September 2nd on Stinky Creek about 7 miles east of Whitewater, halfway between Turkey Track and Forks Road. On Thursday morning, the group will cross Stinky Creek and head southwest to camp on Plouffe land adjacent to Forks Road. This will be roughly 13-mile day.
On Friday, the trip will continue southwest on the Historic Tatnall Rail Siding and cross Whitewater Creek, then south to the Milk River for Friday night camp on Hines land adjacent to Milk River Road, which starts at Hwy 191 below Mitch Hill to Cole Ponds. The camp is about 8 miles east of US 191 N. This will be a 14-mile day.
Saturday will see them depart from the Milk River Road, crossing the river heading west until just past the Box Bar Ranch Headquarters, and then SW to again intersect the River on McEwen Ranch. The group will then head south on the east side of the river to the Smith Ranch crossing for Saturday night camp adjacent to US 191 N. This will be a 15-mile day.
Sunday, they depart the Smith Ranch and cross the river and head south on the east side, about 5 miles to the Smith Ranch south crossing. From there, they will travel to the river and 191 N to Anderson's Orahood Pasture. There they will follow Spring Coulee southwest to the Sunday night camp again adjacent to 191 north on the Doug and Rhonda Simanton Ranch about 4 miles north of town, for a 15-mile day.
Monday head to town with an estimated 11 AM arrival and the parade through town.
