One Nation, Under God

Dodson News for July 22, 2020

7-15. Graveside services were held Saturday July 11 at Hillside Cemetery at Dodson for longtime beloved resident Gloria Mortenson. Condolences are sent to all her family in their loss.

Graduation services were held on July 9th at the school for the seniors, eighth grade and kindergarten. Bonnie Lankford was the speaker.

Teresa and Roper Leys of Choteau took Dora Henry to Billings on Wednesday for medical. They returned to Choteau on Friday.

Thank you to whomever mowed the Lutheran church lawn. It looked very nice.

Lutherans were surprised on arriving for church on Sunday to find a large trampoline set up by the front doors. The last time things were done by the front door like this, windows were broken. Please remember this is Church property!

Greetings and congratulations to all having birthdays and anniversaries this week.

What you do today can improve all tomorrows.

Have a wonderful week.

7-22. A fast moving storm moved through around 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 19th and for about 15 minutes we had heavy rain and small hail. The weather service had just called shortly before to ask if twisting clouds or anything could be seen in the north, but the storm came in fast from the west. Hail was small and mixed in with the rain it did not seem to do too much damage.

Barbara Trembley and Dora Henry were in Havre on Friday for medical. The construction between Chinook and Havre is still rough but should be nice when finished.

Terri Cole was in Billings over a long weekend for medical and to visit family.

Things are starting to progress with the bus barn being built by the school.

Velma Broadhead's great-grandson was here for a few days to visit and helped her with many things in her yard. Her yard looks nice, she spends a lot of time with it.

There has not been a lot of activity at the fairgrounds for the fair to be only two short weeks away. Hope there is as good of a fair as there can be under the circumstances. Dodson's fair has run for a long time!

Cheryl Ames of Laurel visited her mom Dora Henry this week and took an adjustable bed to Helena For Dora's son-in-law when he comes home from the hospital.

Congratulations and greeting to all having a birthday or anniversary this week.

Albert Einstein said, "Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think."

A good week to you all!
