One Nation, Under God

Dodson News for July 8, 2020

Tim and Heidi Solberg and two children and Nathan Solberg were here this week to help their mother with things. They were in church with Polly on Sunday.

It rained again on Friday night but we missed with the harder storm a couple of days earlier and different places reported hail in places with it. Gardens are just starting to produce, I have enjoyed strawberries twice so far.

The community was sad to hear of the passing of former superintendent Nellie Sherman on the 30th of June. She was a dear lady and a good superintendent. We hope to place a plaque for her in the school if they allow it.

My daughter Linda and husband Ray Vulk were rear-ended by a car on the interstate just north of Helena last week sustaining some bad injuries. Linda is out and around but did have a brain injury but Ray has a broken neck among other things and will be in rehab for at least six weeks at the last report. Linda was sent to Benefis in Great Falls by ambulance and Ray was taken by airvac after being stabilized at St. Petes. Teresa Leyes of Choteau and Dora Henry were in Great Falls to see Linda and Ray on Monday and Tuesday. Bill Henry of Havre also drove up to Great Falls on Monday to check on them.

Former resident Donavon Hurlbert, son of Don and Cathy Hurlbert was in a motorcycle accident at Bozeman/Belgrade and is at this time still in a coma in Billings. We send wishes to all those who have had accidents for a recovery with no lasting effects. May God be with them all.

Birthday greetings to all having a birthday this week including Wesley KillEagle Jr. and to all having an anniversary.

The pursuit of truth is like picking raspberries. You miss a lot if you approach it from only one angle.

May your week be accident-free and full of summer things for you to do. It is wonderful to be out and see everything so green!
