One Nation, Under God
A letter from the MHS Activities Director
First, I want to and most importantly recognize our student-athletes of Malta High School in these difficult times. Our student-athletes were stripped of many opportunities due to COVID-19. I want to acknowledge the seniors who could not finish their senior season of Track/Field or Golf. I want to thank Pierre, Mark, and the Phillips County News for helping us give our student athletics the recognition our student-athletes deserve.
I also want to say thank you to the people who work behind the scenes. These people play an essential role in the success of Malta Athletics. I first want to thank our school secretaries Tara Cole and Donna Scheffelmaer, and for all you do for our students and myself every day. So next time you see either one of these ladies, please thank them for all they do for our students. Next, I would like to thank our custodians at both the high school and the elementary school for keeping our facilities in prime condition. Our facilities are some of the best in the state, and it is due in large part to the hard work of our custodians. I would also like to thank our bus drivers. Our bus drivers spend countless hours on the road in every type of weather condition, getting our students to and from contests safely. I want to say thank you to our local media, Phillips County News and Greg Kielb at KMMR, for their continued support of Malta Athletics. Lastly, I want to thank our coaches for the great job they do with our students and the endless amount of time they dedicate to our students. Our coaches sacrifice so much time in their lives to give our students a positive experience. I thank you, coaches, for all you do for our student-athletes.
I want to thank the community of Malta for your endless support of Malta Activities. Our students are blessed to be part of a community that takes tremendous pride in their school. So thank you, and it’s a “Great Day to be a Mustang/M’ette!!”
