Primary ballots mailed out in P. C.

Ballots for the June 2 primary mail ballot election hit mailboxes in Phillips County last week ahead of the November general election and locally, the Republican primary ballot includes one contested race, three uncontested positions and three levies.

In Montana House District 33, Rep. Casey Knudsen, Malta, is seeking a third term as state representative and is challenged by fellow Republican Joyce Stone.

Also, at the state level, Sen. Mike Lang, Malta is seeking reelection in the Montana Senate District 17 and is running unopposed in the primary and general election.

Locally, Phillips County Commissioner Richard Dunbar and Phillips County Clerk of the District Court Tami Christofferson are also seeking reelection and running unopposed in both the primary and general elections.

Also, there will be three county ballot issues: A County Road Levy, County General Levy, and a County Bridge Levy. All active voters receiving a ballot in rural areas of Phillips County will vote on all County levy issues. All active voters receiving a ballot in the City of Malta, Town of Dodson and Town of Saco will vote on the County General Levy and County Bridge Levy. The PCN will have more news about these proposed levies in next week’s paper.
