One Nation, Under God
Talking to anyone on the internet is like walking on eggshells.
In times of crisis, one would think that something like the game of baseball potentially coming back soon, would bring us together. Not the case.
I heard about the possibility of baseball coming back last week and I was happy about it. I can’t watch as much baseball or sometimes any baseball because it takes away from family time, but I still enjoy watching White Sox games when I can.
The 2020 Major League Baseball season has been postponed due to the threat of COVID-19, which is still present all around the world. But there have been proposals in place to play the game in different formats. The format that I heard about on ESPN Chicago, would feature several restructured divisions for this year’s MLB season. It was formatted so that it would limit traveling between the teams. For example, the White Sox and Chicago Cubs would be in the same division with the St. Louis Cardinals, Minnesota Twins, Milwaukee Brewers, and so on.
This, of course, means that the league would have to figure out whether or not American League teams would have to have their pitchers bat, or if National League teams would bring in designated hitters. One article on social media announced the possibility of both conferences using designated hitters and the “Angry” faces and rude comments came out.
I understand why each side would want to play by their rules, but I thought that people might be happy that the game is about to start rather than complain about one of many rule changes. I could just be looking at the bright side, but it seems that people will fight or bicker about anything. I am just happy that the game may be coming back soon.
It has been fun watching PJ and Lincoln interact with each other. They are starting to have conversations, though a lot of times I still struggle to understand what Linc is saying at times. He will repeat himself ever so passionately, but I have no idea what he is saying. Often PJ or Susan will break it down for me.
PJ has been working hard during his time away from the Malta Elementary School building. He is still eager to learn and is getting smarter by the minute.
