MHSA shuts down 2020 spring sports

The Montana High School Sports Association (MHSA) announced that the spring sports season, including track and golf, are canceled on Wednesday, April 22, after an executive board meeting was held via teleconference.

The judgement corresponds with Montana Governor Steve Bullock's reopening plan for the state, which allows schools to choose whether to reopen schools or continue online learning.

According to the MHSA website: The Board proceeded with cautious optimism holding on to hope to realistically resume spring activities. It would be difficult to conduct meaningful spring activities from this late date, with many schools deciding not to return to in-person instruction, and with the social distancing recommendations still in place along with many other factors.
