High-speed pursuit ends in Zortman was arrest

On Friday, April 17, 2020, at approximately 0113 hours, Phillips County Sheriff's Office dispatch received a phone call from Fort Belknap Tribal Police requesting assistance with a high­speed pursuit which had just crossed into Phillips County on Route 66 near Landusky.

Two Phillips County Sheriff's deputies went to assist in the pursuit. Sheriff Jerry Lytle was notified of the pursuit and also headed South to assist.

The suspect vehicle continued South on Route 66 then North on US 191. It then turned North on Seven Mile Road heading towards Zortman. Fort Belknap Tribal officers continued the pursuit which finally ended near the Alan Parks' residence in Zortman.

The driver of the vehicle fled on foot after throwing an object, later found to be a handgun, to the ground. The vehicle, passenger, and a dog were taken into custody. The passenger and dog were later released.
