One Nation, Under God
Sympathy to all people who are affected by the COVID-19 virus.
Although we have not had victims who contracted the virus in Phillips County, our Whitewater is taking precautions as recommended.
The North 40 Café is temporarily closed.
Whitewater Lutheran Church does not have Sunday service nor Lenten Soup Supper and services.
The Whitewater Schools are closed until a later date. However, the students are still studying via the internet with the help of the teachers. I saw Mrs. Cummings and Mrs. Steesvik, local teachers. Computers are a new method of schools.
Last Sunday, the Whitewater Baptist Church had visitors from Tennessee. Their names were the Hunter family, David, Melinda, Hunter and Shane, all from Crossville.
A newcomer to Whitewater is Diane Simonton. She retired from coal mining in Wyoming. She said, “mines are affected by COVID-19, also.” Welcome, Diane.
The COVID-19 has affected us in different ways, also.
The danger was one reason I canceled my knee operation.
My granddaughter, Chalise Young, had to postpone her wedding until a later date.
I do worry about my son, Mitchell, in Seattle, Wash., as they are hit hard with the sickness there.
Canada also has the virus there and I hear reports they are short on items. My daughter Teresa works in a grocery store in Swift Current, Sask., and said their store is out of items, mostly toilet paper. That is too bad.
Let’s hope and pray that COVID-19 is conquered and life goes back to normal again.
Dixie Stordahl of Loring came to our last Senior Meal at the North 40 before they had to temporarily close. She showed us some pictures she paints and will sell. They are beautiful. (I bought one.)
PUr Whitewater weather is so changeable. Most of the snow is gone, thank goodness. But it is still cold even if the calendar says “spring.”
Take care.
Helen A.
