Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Operator

Spectrum Engineering and Environmental is currently seeking a qualified applicant for a WTP operator at the Zortman and Landusky Mine sites located in Phillips County, MT. The successful candidate will possess a great attitude, strong analytical and organizational skills, be team oriented and ability to work flexible hours. The candidate will be expected to run heavy equipment (training available) and be willing to work toward a Montana Class 1D Industrial Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator license. Applicant must possess a valid Montana license and will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test and physical. Pay range to start is $21-$25 per hour.

Zortman and Landusky Mine site Summer staff

Spectrum Engineering and Environmental has a position open for part-time summer help at the Zortman and Landasky Mine sites in Phillips County, MT. The job is expected to be from June through September averaging 40 hours per week with potential overtime. Work could be 10-12 hour days. The ideal candidate will have an interest in water treatment and be able to work in a construction environment. Spectrum will consider providing housing for the individual if needed. Pay range is $18-$23 per hour.

Machine Operator - Malta Irrigation District

The Malta Irrigation District is seeking to fill one (1) Machine Operator position. This position is permanent full-time with health care benefits, including pension. Applicants must have the desire and ability to perform a wide variety of skilled duties associated with the operation and maintenance of the Malta Irrigation District’s water distribution system. Applicants must have the following skills – Operate and maintain machinery, including but not limited to loaders, trucks, backhoes, excavators, etc. Must be willing to perform work in the operation and use of construction equipment in support of activities related to construction, maintenance, and repair of the District’s water systems. Must be able to work some overtime and weekends and be on call for emergencies. Must also have or be able to obtain a Class A drivers’ license within the first year of employment. Applicant will also be required to pass a drug screening. FULL-TIME DEPUTY SHERIFF

The Phillips County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications to create a hiring pool from which successful applicants will be chosen to fill vacancies. We currently have one opening for a FULL-TIME DEPUTY SHERIFF. Applications will be accepted until position is filled.

Duties for a Deputy Sheriff include crime prevention, investigating crimes, traffic patrol, drug interdiction, among other law enforcement related duties. Applicants must possess the following qualifications:

Must be a United States citizen

Must have a High School diploma or GED

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Montana Driver's License

Must not have a felony conviction

Must be of good moral character as determined by a thorogh background investigation

Must pass medical and mental health evaluations

Possession of current P.O.S.T. Basic certification preferred but not necessary to apply. Within one year of hire, must be able to successfully complete the MLEA Basic course and receive P.O.S.T. Basic certification. Applicants will be expected to travel to Malta, MT for psychological testing as well as interviews.

Benefits include 100% premiums paid for medical insurace for employee and family, vacation/sick pay, and annual longevity pay increases. Starting wage is $18.40/hour with 5% increase upon completing one year of probation.
