One Nation, Under God
Today I learned that Malta Opportunities, Inc., will host a grand reopening on Wednesday, March 11 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. There will be cake and refreshments served and I will be making sweet potato pecan pie, so stop by and see us at MOI across the street from Albertsons in Malta.
Last September, approximately, I watched them put in the basement – which included putting in Styrofoam insulation with rebar inside of it. Not that long ago, I got to watch the house being put back on its foundation, and atop the basement, as workers used a crane from Turner, Mont. The work seemed to go rather smoothly. One thing I would have liked to see is the workers fill the entire foundation so that they could cut through the precision cutting saw on the concrete so I could have gathered some of the extra pieces. I would have broken them into smaller pieces and taken them out to the City of Malta Dump. Last year when they were digging up the basement, I had the chance to observe the work from across the street near the Phillips County Courthouse.
Work has continued at the new armory near the Phillips County Hospital. All the work is taking place inside the building, so it is hard to give a progress report, but it is very muddy around the building.
Next week I plan to bring some new pictures of the armory for the paper so stay tuned and if you have any construction work that you would like me to mention, give me a call at 654-2533.
