One Nation, Under God
Happy New Year 20020! We should all pray for peace on earth.
Sympathy to all victims of war everywhere and their families.
New Year’s Eve, there was a great party at North 40 in Whitewater. There were lots of snacks and wonderful music. The music was provided by the Crossroads Band which includes Vince "Span” Mace, Gordy Faaborg, Riley Abrahamson, and two others (I will get their names soon.) The music was great and some of it was Country.
Pam Abrahamson, Janice and Curt Reichelt, and others from Malta attended. The “Champion” dancers included Mark Lageson and Patty Young. A great party and thanks to the North 40!
I spent Christmas day with Gale and Challise, my daughter and granddaughter. We had a great time, eating, opening gifts, and visiting.
Sunday, Janice and Curt hosted a delicious dinner at their home four our family. Some played games, but I like old games like Chinese Checkers (in 1952, I was checker champion of our Whitewater town.) Does anyone play checkers anymore? If so, maybe we can play at the North 40. Call me if interested and/or if you have any news, my number is 406-674-5576 (Let it ring and calls to Whitewater are not long distance.)
Whitewater School had a long vacation. Some children went on sleigh rides and wagon rides here including the local 4-H group who sang Christmas carols along the way. I think the Hellies were some of the wagon drivers.
The Jason Hellie family went on vacation to Arizona. The weather there was better than it was here, of that much I am certain.
We have snow and it is getting cold here in Whitewater. However, it was way above zero and very pleasant here this last week. Last New Year’s Eve, it was -30…much calmer this year.
We have tiny little snowbirds in trees here. I hope they don’t freeze. Maybe they are sparrows (I bet Dixie Stordahl knows.)
“God’s eyes are on the sparrows.” Remember that song?
Again, Happy New Year.
Helen A.
