MALTA-Freda Mailloux passed away at Hi-Line Retirement Center on January 2, 2020.
Freda was born December 2, 1922 in Worland, Wyo., to John and Anna Reinhardt. She grew up on sugar beet farm with 10 siblings.
Freda married Duane Mailloux in May of 1945, and they spent nearly 73 years together until his death in 2018. Together they raised two children. While helping on the farm in South Dakota, she also raised a huge garden every year and canned nearly everything she raised. Freda loved flowers and had many beautiful flower beds.
In 1997 Freda and Duane retired and moved to Malta, Mont., to be closer to their daughter. She continued to raise a garden, tend to her flower beds, and do some canning until she was 92 years old.
Freda was preceded in death by her husband Duane; parents John and Anna; four brothers, five sisters; and one great grandson.
She is survived by her son Kelly of Shepard; daughter Diane (Mike) Erickson of Saco, Mont.; brother John Reinhardt of Glenrock, Wyo.; sister-in-laws Betty White and Phyllis Mailloux of Sturgis, S.D.; five grandchildren Corey (Charisse) Erickson, Curt (Tedi) Erickson, Stacy (Shanon) Erickson, Brad (Darci) Mailloux, and Chrisite (Dorn) Linner; 12 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
At Freda's request no local services will be held. Interment will be held at the Black hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, S.D., alongside her husband.
