The Dodson Lady Coyotes basketball team are 4-0 after defeating the White Shield Warriors (N.D.) 58-23 and the Bainville Bulldogs 60-20 last weekend at the Wolf Point Classic.
"Our team is well disciplined," Lady Coyotes Head Coach Frank Benson told the PCN. "And that's probably because of the coach last year (Deserae KillEagle). I hope I don't mess them up too much."
The team is hoping to get their fifth straight win before the Winter Break, but the Scobey Lady Spartans stand in the way of that dream. The two teams will face off Saturday, December 21, in Scobey at 7:30 p.m.
In Dodson's win over White Shield on Friday, December 13, the Lady Coyotes were led by Christina Jaynes who had 24 points and six rebounds, 17 of which came in the first half.
"Christina just attacks the basket," Coach Benson said.
Lindsey fetter had 12 points, ten of which came in the first quarter. L. Fetter also had ten rebounds and seven steals. Melony Fetter added 10 points.
"Lindsey is kind of our x-factor," Coach Benson said.
The Lady Coyote defense proved to be stingy against White Shield only giving up five points in the first quarter, three points in the second, five points in the third, and ten in the fourth. The Lady Coytes scored 25 points in the first, 13 in the second, 16 in the third and four in the fourth.
The Lady Coyotes were even more dominant in their win over Bainville on Saturday, December 14, giving up no more than six points in any quarter against the Bulldogs, and only two in the fourth quarter. Fetter had 25 points in the win and Jaynes had 19. Kataya KillEagle, an eighth-grader had 10 points.
