Leroy was born July 4, 1947 to Ray and Clarice Dyrdahl of Loring, Montana.
What a firecracker. As a child he thought all the parades and fireworks were for him. As time went on he got more interested in hot cars. His pride and joy was a 69' Nova supposedly the fastest car on the Hi-Line!
After his school he worked at the smelter in Great Falls for a period of time. Later he worked at M&F Chevy in Malta. Finally he decided he was going to help his father work the farm in Loring. In 1975 he met a city girl named Debbie they married just six weeks after their meeting and shared 44 wonderful years together. In 2000 they sold the farm and he worked a variety of jobs until his illness got the better of him.
Leroy was instrumental in building Hi-Line Dragstrip working many hours on concrete, and hauling many materials. He spent many hours running the water box.
He is survived by his wife Debbie, his sister Sharon Hill (Dusty), cousins Jack and Jane Bogut of Pittsburgh, Don and Emily of Kalispell and Marilyn Bogut of Dillon, nieces Darla Shrock, Rochelle Jarrett (Bryce), and grand nieces, Emily and Aimee Shrock; sister in law Jerilyn Bisbee of Denver, Colo., Brother in laws Jack Halter of Seattle Wash., and Jim Halter of Grants Pass, Ore.
