One Nation, Under God
I got to watch a construction truck pour concrete for a basement across from the Phillips County Courthouse where a private residence is being built.
I have also been watching the construction crew put the new gray metal roof on the MOI building and looks to almost be done as of last Wednesday.
This month, I also got to take two construction workers to Dairy Queen in Malta and they were Tom Peterson and Tom Flatt. It was my way of telling them thank you for doing such a good job on the MOI building. In October, I will once again treat some more workers to Dairy Queen for dessert.
I watched asphalt being poured near my house, across from the Phillips County Library, by Adam’s Asphalt. That work took most of the day.
Last Wednesday morning, I looked around the basement of the Phillips County News Office which over the years has been an insurance agency office and a sporting goods store. It’s really small down there.
Over at the Malta Boys and Girls Club, work continues on the south entry where the new steps and walkway have been built and where the ground is being prepared for more concrete.
Earlier this month, I also visited with Phillips County News Publisher Mark Hebert and his daughter, Sophia, as we ran into each other at a store in Billings, Mont. I was in Billings visiting friends and that Friday night, my friends and I ate at Red Lobster.
