One Nation, Under God
Walking through our doors this week was a 1948 Malta High School Annual called “The Prairie Wind”. Inside the annual I found many of the student activities were similar to 2019 student activities. However, I did find a new club that was formed called “The Red Cross Council”.
Amazingly it had 100 percent enrollment of the junior and senior high – and before you ask – it was not mandatory! The purpose of the club was to stimulate Red Cross activities and help with the Senior Red Cross activities in the county. President was Tom Schurr, Eva Mae Wilson, Marjorie Mangis, and Donna Korb were delegates and officers. Time marches on and now our local EMT’s teach students and adults about accidents and how to respond.
As a community it's important to realize the importance of our health care and those that willingly donate their time and energy to the public good. Congratulations to the hospital and the 75-year celebration and to the individuals who participate in the EMT program.
The Museum has a “hospital area” that has many of the old instruments and devices used for health care.
Hours are Monday-Saturday 10-5.
