Caleb Ditmar. DHS grad, perishes in auto accident

In the early morning of 08/20/2019 there was a vehicle crash located about 2 miles west of Dodson, a short distance west of the Milk River Bridge, on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, in Phillips County. A passerby called 911 and reported the crash to the Phillips County Sheriff's Office. Undersheriff Kevin Metcalf responded to the scene, as well as Malta EMS and Malta Fire Department. Montana Highway Patrol and Fort Belknap Police Officers were also notified and responded.

A vehicle driven by Caleb Arthur Ditmar, 18 years of age, was driving eastbound toward Dodson at the time of the crash. The vehicle in which Ditmar was driving, left the roadway on the south side of US Highway 2. At some point, the vehicle rolled over, ejecting Ditmar. Ditmar, who was from the Dodson and Fort Belknap area, was pronounced dead at the scene. Ditmar was a graduate of the Dodson High School Class of 2019.
