High speed chase ends with arrest in Malta last Tuesday

On the evening of Tuesday, July 30, the Phillips County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a phone call from the Fort Belknap Police dispatch stating their officers were in a pursuit with a vehicle at speeds up to 110-miles per hour heading east on US Highway 2 towards Phillips County. Deputies Nico Myers, Johnny Morgan, Jesse Niehoff, along with Undersheriff Kevin Metcalf responded to assist in the pursuit.

Speeds of the pursuit ranged from 60-miles per hour to over 100-miles per hour in Phillips County. The subject drove to a local residence in Malta and was taken into custody and transported to the Phillips County Hospital as he had been Tasered.

After the subject was release from the hospital, he was taken to the Valley County Detention Center and has been charged with MCA 61-8-316, Fleeing from or eluding a Peace Officer; MCA 45-7-302, Obstructing a Peace Officer or other public servant; MCA 61-8-309, Speeding in a restricted zone; MCA 61-8-322, Passing vehicles proceeding in opposite directions; MCA 61-8-343, Right of Way violation; MCA 45-5-207, Criminal Endangerment; and MCA 45-7-301, Resisting Arrest.
