Every Malta swimmer present at the 2019 Montana Federation of Swimmers East Divisional Meet in Scobey last Saturday, July 27 through Sunday, July 28, earned a ticket to state.
The State Swim Meet is scheduled for Saturday, August 3 through Sunday, August 4, in Sidney.
At the East Divisional, ten-year-old Jahmiah Huffman-LaBrie led Malta with 34 points, winning the 50 Meter Backstroke with a time of 43.63. He was third in the 50-Meter Fly with a time of 42.89 and third in the 100-Meter IM with a time of 1:35.31.
Fifteen-year-old Darrow Messerly took third place in the 100-Meter Breaststroke with a time of 1:23.52. He was sixth in the 200-IM with a time of 2:55.52 and seventh in the 100-Meter IM with a time of 1:08.40. Messerly had 23 points.
Eight-year-old Taya Wilke scored 23 points, taking second in the 100 IM with a time of 2:10.59, sixth in the 25-Meter Breaststroke, and ninth in the 25 Meter Backstroke with a time of 28.79.
Makiya Wilke, a fourteen-year-old, took seventh in the 100 Free with a time of 1:18.77 and ninth in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:48.70.
Nolan Moore, a seven-year-old, took seventh in the 25 Breaststroke with a time of 32.22.
Eleven-year-old Danika Wilke took ninth in the 50 Backstroke with a time of 46.64.
