One Nation, Under God
Sympathy to families of Selma (Solberg) Miller; especially to Art and Sue Solberg, my friends.
Get well to Tricia (Emond) LaBrie who is home from the Mayo Clinic.
Sally Austin took Helen Depuydt and me to Selma Miller’s funeral last week.
Jeanie Green, Ree Simonson and I went to the Sleeping Buffalo. Water was great as usual.
The Blunt family from Loring were in the pool as the children take swimming lessons there.
Some Loring Hutterites were in Whitewater this week. Some of their group are mowing hay along the road to Malta. We have had lots of rain, so grass and clover are high. Great!
There is a big John Deere tractor on display in front of Adam and Taylor Hellie’s house. They received an award of a riding lawnmower from the John Deere company. Congratulations to the Hellie’s on that.
Also, congratulations to June and July anniversaries. They include Mr. and Mrs. Jesson, Whitewater, and Mr. and Mrs. Curt Reichelt, also of Whitewater and Malta. Again, happy birthday to all July birthdays as there are many more.
It's hard to believe it is almost August which brings about fair time. August 1st is the day for fair show entries. Whitewater 4-H’ers are busy preparing their fair entries.
Note: There is no church at Whitewater Lutheran on Sunday, August 4 due to the Phillips County Fair.
The Phillips Transit Authority gives free rides from Malta to Dodson all four days of the fair. See page 6A of this week’s PCN for bus times but note that there is a $1 gate fee to enter the fair.
Recently I visited my friend June Thompson, formerly of Saco.
Good news! My sister, Janet Brown who is formerly a Whitewater resident, is coming to visit! We have plans for a party, a trip to the Fort Peck Theatre, and lots of visiting and eating. I will write about our adventures next week.
Enjoy your summer fun.
Helen A.
