American Legion Post 57 News for July 24, 2019

As has been the normal for several years there is no meetings scheduled in July and August. The next meeting of Post 57 and Squadron 57 will be on September 17th at the VFW Club. District 2 and Post 57 commander Vincent Schmoeckel attended the 100th State convention in late June at Polson, Mont., where our Post's display of information on the history of the 1st State Convention held in 1919 in Malta took the 3rd place prize in the state post's Anniversary contest.

Both Post 57 and Sons of the American Legion Squadron 57 are open to requests for financial help to various worthwhile community needs. Send a committee to our meetings or a letter explaining needs to either club by way of the VFW Clubs address of P.O. Box 714. Malta MT.

The post is now holding their annual raffle (with drawing on Dec. 17th with the prizes as follows: Mossberg Patriot rifle in .22-250 caliber; a barn-wood cedar chest donated by Ken Wiederrick; a birdhouse donated by Gary Faydo; and hobbles donated by Swede Uphaus.
