One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News and Opinion for July 3, 2019

Sympathy to children of Latin America coming from Mexico.

“Glad you are better” to Marjorie Olson, Jeanie Green, and Dallas Green.

Our Whitewater had about 2.5 inches of rain! Some parts of Phillips County had more. 6.5 to 9 inches reported in Zortman. They had flooding and water over roads. We prayed for rain and it sure worked.

Wednesday at senior meals, Tana Oyler was guest; also, Kathleen, Helen DePudyt’s daughter from California. Guests are welcome at our senior meals at the North 40.

The Simonson families had a large reunion. A large part of the family reunion was a “prayer service” at Whitewater Lutheran Church. On Saturday, hosted by Lynn and Eunice Simonson. Most of them ate Sunday breakfast and then lunch too at the church. There were rows of vehicles in front, wonderful.

June 22, there was a funeral for Tom Stordahl in Loring Church. Many from Whitewater – including Sally and myself – attended the funeral and church.

Then Sally and I went to town to meet Joyce (Austin) Donovan and Julie (Austin) Cole and Jeff. We had a nice visit and supper.

Janice and Curt Reichelt went to Havre for a late celebration of their anniversary. How nice.

Justin Austin (Sally Austin’s son) has been working in northern, Canada, for a while. “Hello” to him.

Congratulations to my granddaughter Shelia and husband, on their recent wedding. They live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Sheila called to tell me about it.

It is hard to believe it is July. If you travel on July 4, drive careful. Also, if you have campfires, put them out.

Note: There is a basketball camp in Whitewater School in July. Call the school for more information.

Happy Independence Day! Enjoy the fireworks.

Helen A.
