The Cal Wearley Memorial featured 28 track teams, and among the 20 class C schools were a trio of Dodson Coyotes and one Whitewater Penguin.
Whitewater sophomore Beau Simonson took fifth place in shot put with a throw of 39-11, a new personal best. Simonson also had a new personal best of 90-08 in discus.
Dodson freshman Michael Jaynes placed fifteenth in high jump after setting a personal best in high jump after clearing 5-0.
Coyote sophomore Jeramiah Benson posted a personal best in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.50. Benson also had a personal best of 1:01.58 in the 400.
Dodson Freshman Treyten KillEagle posted a throw of 17-8 in shot put and a throw of 44-2 in discus. The PCN caught up to KillEagle to talk about his second meet of the season.
“I did pretty good, I guess,” KillEagle said. “I beat my personal record today.”
KillEagle also shared the difference between junior high and high school.
“I got stronger and my utensils got bigger,” KillEagle said. “I am adjusting fine. I am not at my full potential but I will get there by the end of the season.”
