One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News and Opinion for March 27, 2019

There will be some non-denominational bible talk by a Christian group at of the at the North 40 at 2 p.m. starting on Friday afternoons at 2 pm., starting on March 29. The talks will be conducted by Donna Benjamin and Kara Schuebel. All are welcome.

Get well wishes to Whoopie Goldberg. I am glad she is back on TV’s “The View.”

Welcome back to Snow Birds the Simonsons. Eunice said, “it is good to be back home at Whitewater.” The geese are back too.

It is hard to believe that this is the end of the third quarter at Whitewater School. My, how time flies.

Congratulations to Rory Green (Whitewater School third grade student) who won at the “bumper Sticker” contest. His theme was “jumping the saddle for Montana cattle.” Good job, Rory.

Ag day was at City Hall in Malta on March 15 and was a huge success. Many from the Whitewater area (including myself) were in attendance. There were many booths, almost all relating to agriculture. We singed up for prizes. Who won the jelly bean prize?

There was a lunch at the Fire Hall with all the proceeds going to the fire crews, a worthy cause.

Well, the weather in Whitewater has warmed up. The snow is melting slowley from sunny days; this is great. However, what is strange, is that as it warmed up, many outside sewer lines freeze up...including mine. This is very frustrating but I called Pat Dunbar who brought his machine and had the line thawed quickly. Thanks Pat.

Many local ranchers are calving Good luck to them and the baby lambs. Warm and sunny weather really is a blessing to them.

March 20 was the first day of spring. I had sprouted potatoes which I had planted for house plants. They are thriving indoors.

Take care,

Helen A.
