NOTICE TO NEW CONCEALED WEAPON PERMIT APPLICANTS: The Phillips County Sheriff’s Office will no longer be providing Concealed Weapon Permit classes. When you pick up the application, you will see the legal requirements necessary to obtain a Concealed Weapon Permit. If you wish, you can still complete training courses offered around the state OR satisfy the requirements of MCA 45-8-321(5), which is to show your familiarity with a firearm by bringing the weapon you plan on carrying concealed to the Sheriff’s Office and demonstrating to the Sheriff, or his designee, that you have a high degree of familiarity with the firearm.

Please remember to file a new burn permit for the 2019 year. If you plan on doing any burning in 2019, please file one BEFORE you start to burn. These permits are good for all of 2019 and you only have to file one a year, not every time you burn. All 2018 permits will no longer be valid after December 31, 2018. Call PCSO, 406-654-2350, to let Dispatch know of your controlled burn before you start, as a courtesy. Thank you!

6:41 p.m. Reserve Deputy reported to the residential fire scene to monitor the location until the State Fire Marshall arrived.

9:55 p.m. Female reported receiving harassing phone calls for an extended amount of time; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

9:59 p.m. Sheriff reported to the fire scene to monitor the location until the State Fire Marshall arrived.

11:20 p.m. BNSF Police reported a crossing arm malfunction and a maintainer was enroute to repair it.

1:45 p.m. Fire Alarm Company reported a commercial fire alarm sounding at a county school; all found to be okay, just set off accidentally by the janitor.

2:28 p.m. Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6pm Sunday to 6 p.m. Monday for most of Philips Co.

3:55 p.m. Malta High School employee reported a parking hazard in their parking lot; Deputy responded to the call; owner located and advised to move the vehicle.

7:20 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a lift assist at a local apartment complex; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

3:27 p.m. Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6pm tonight to 6 p.m. Monday for Philips Co.

4:49 p.m. Deputy removed a tipped over dumpster from a residential street.

9:44 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a female with a possibly broken hip; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

10:42 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a lift assist at a local apartment complex; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient not transported to the PC Hospital.

11:30 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew responded to the call.

12:02 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a male who’s hip popped out; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

9:10 p.m. MT Dept of Transportation reported a lane blockage on Hwy 191 south, just north of the Fred Robinson Bridge.

10:10 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a lift assist at a local apartment complex; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient not transported to the PC Hospital.

11:37 p.m. Winter Weather Advisory now in effect until 6pm tonight.

4:26 p.m. MT Dept of Transportation employee reported an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 191 south of Malta; vehicle was in the ditch and no one was around; information passed onto Undersheriff.

7:27 p.m. Deputy assisted an individual having vehicle problems on 9th St E.

4:52 p.m. Reserve Deputy reported a vehicle having overheating issues on Hwy 2, west of Malta; individuals were going to try to get into Malta and get some help.

5:15 p.m. Female reported a county school bus was stuck near Lodgepole; female advised kids were getting off of the bus and had a ride.

11:05 p.m. Male filed a verbal complaint regarding noise at a tenant’s apartment going on for 3 days; Deputy responded to the call; tenant located and advised to keep it down.

January 23, 2019

4:00 p.m. 911 received requesting a male be removed from a Dodson residence; Deputy and Undersheriff responded to the call; case file started.

4:34 p.m. Deputy transported one adult male, Casey Jackson, to PCSO to be incarcerated in PCSO Jail on Disorderly Conduct charges.

7:53 p.m. Deputy reported to the Malta Elementary School for the breakfast program.

10:14 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a female who fell and could not get up; caller advised she needed to go to the hospital; local EMT Crew, Sheriff, Undersheriff and Deputy responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

1:17 p.m. Deputy released one adult male, Casey Jackson, from PCSO Jail on time served.

2:47 p.m. Male reported finding a stray dog.

3:46 p.m. Malta City employee requested law enforcement assistance with a situation at the City Hall; Deputies responded to the call; case file started.

9:15 p.m. 911 received reporting a one vehicle rollover on Hwy 191 south of Malta; no injuries reported; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

9:28 p.m. Deputy removed hay bale debris from Hwy 191 south.

10:19 p.m. Female requested assistance with a heater that wasn’t working at her residence; Deputy responded to the location; local business also responded to the location and assisted with getting the heater working again.

10:22 p.m. Deputy requested a tow truck out of Glasgow for the vehicle involved in the rollover; request came from the registered owner.

9:29 p.m. Male reported he had been “assaulted by a female” yesterday in the downtown area; information passed onto Deputy and added to an existing case file.

1:27 p.m. Female requested assistance with an eviction notice; caller advised to contact the Justice of the Peace.

2:18 p.m. Female requested assistance with a court ordered visitation; Deputy handled the call.

6:31 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew responded to the call.

9:18 p.m. Female reported a dog running loose by the high school; information passed onto ACO.

1:57 p.m. Deputy performed building security checks in the downtown Malta area.

1:18 p.m. Female requested assistance with trash outside of an apartment; caller was concerned it “was hazardous”; caller advised to speak to the apartment manager.

2:50 p.m. Local MHP Trooper reported blowing and drifting snow on Hwy 191 south; information passed onto MT Dept of Transportation employee.

3:20 p.m. Local MHP Trooper reported a vehicle in the ditch on Hwy 191 south, near the Bear Gulch turnoff; driver arrived back on scene while the Trooper was there to remove the vehicle.

4:45 p.m. Male reported a scam.

4:49 p.m. Local Ambulance reported to MHS for the wrestling tournament.

5:12 p.m. Male reported he slid off of Hwy 191 south; information passed onto MHP Dispatch.

6:08 p.m. Lifeline requested an ambulance at a Saco residence; Saco EMT crew advised of the call; Lifeline later canceled as a family member was there and taking care of the patient.

7:30 p.m. Local business reported theft of property; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

8:43 p.m. Local MHP Trooper reported an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 191 south of Malta; vehicle had been there since Tuesday.

9:20 p.m. Local Ambulance reported to MHS for the wrestling tournament.

10:06 p.m. Local Fish & Game Wardens reported to Nelson Reservoir for a fishing tournament.

10:48 p.m. Local business received a call reporting a stranded motorist near Ester Lake; local MHP Trooper handled the call.

11:31 p.m. Male reported a lot of slush on Hwy 191 south; information passed onto MT Dept of Transportation employee.

12:33 p.m. Big Flat Electric reported to the Zortman area for an outage.

2:17 p.m. High Wind Warning in effect from noon Sunday to 5am Monday for most of Phillips Co.

4:02 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a female who was possibly throwing up blood; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

5:20 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew responded to the call.

5:38 p.m. Male requested a welfare check on a local female, who may be suicidal; Deputy responded to the call; female found to be okay and was not alone.

6:48 p.m. Female reported a missing dog; dog later located by owner.

9:12 p.m. High Wind Warning remains in effect from noon Sunday to 5am Monday.

11:00 p.m. Female requested law enforcement assistance at a county tavern for an altercation; Deputies responded to the call; all individuals left the location without further incident.

2:11 p.m. 911 received reporting an erratic vehicle on the Wagner Road; Deputies responded to the call; vehicle located at the Wagner dumpster and was parked; driver spoken to and there were no signs of impairment.

3:43 p.m. Reserve Deputy reported to the Whitewater School for security for the basketball games.

4:20 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew responded to the call.

4:44 p.m. Female reported a suspicious vehicle that had been left at a business; Deputy responded to the call; vehicle later left the business without further incident.

9:35 p.m. Female filed a complaint about two vehicles speeding and one passing in a no passing zone on Hwy 2 in Malta; Deputy responded to the call; vehicles located and drivers given a verbal warning.

10:32 p.m. 911 received reporting a vehicle/deer accident on Hwy 191 north of Malta; minor damage to the vehicle; Reserve Deputy responded to the location and removed the deer; white form issued.

10:48 p.m. Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from late Saturday night until late Sunday night for all of Phillips Co.

11:44 p.m. Female reported a suspicious vehicle parked for an extended amount of time in a business parking lot; caller wanted a welfare check on the female driver; Deputy responded to the call; vehicle had just left the location prior to Deputy arrival.

1:27 p.m. Deputy performed building security checks in the Malta area.

2:52 p.m. Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from late Saturday night through early Monday morning for all of Phillips Co.

8:18 p.m. Deputies performed a security check on the Malta Grade School; a door was propped open that is usually locked; all found to be okay.

9:53 p.m. Female reported 4 females trespassing to a rental residential area east of Whitewater; Deputies responded to the call; all individuals left the location without further incident.

11:16 p.m. Male reported receiving information of a female, walking and only had a blanket for a coat, on Forks Road, southeast of Whitewater; Deputies responded to the call; female not located.

11:49 p.m. Female filed a verbal complaint about a water truck driving way to fast and almost missed the corner; caller advised it had occurred the day before; Deputy handled the call.

2:03 p.m. Winter Storm Warning in effect from 2am Sunday to 11am Monday for Phillips Co; 5-8inches of accumulation are possible.

3:09 p.m. Deputy reported damage to a county community hall; case file started.

3:35 p.m. Male requested a welfare check on a female with a walker near the train depot; local MHP Trooper responded to the call; male waiting for the train advised the female had gotten on the previous train and left.

3:52 p.m. Female filed a written complaint regarding slander on a social media site; Deputies responded to the call; case file started.

5:18 p.m. Female reported another female trespassing and harassing her; Deputy responded to the call; individuals advised to stay away from the other party.

5:39 p.m. Male filed a written complaint regarding slander on a social media site; Deputies responded to the call; information added to existing case file.

6:55 p.m. Ft Belknap LE reported a vehicle in the ditch off of Route 66; no one was around the area; Sheriff handled the call.

7:31 p.m. Male reported a vehicle “idling” for an extending amount of time down the street from his residence; information passed onto Deputies.

8:31 p.m. 911 received requesting a welfare check on a female at a local residence; Deputy responded to the call; female found to be okay and at a different residence.
