One Nation, Under God
Sympathy to states who have 50 below temperatures!
Get well to all who are sick. Thank God, Janet B., sister, is better.
There was a basketball game at Whitewater High School last Thursday. Lunch as served and there was also a fundraiser.
Ree Simonson flew to Arizona to visit Lyn and family.
Saturday, January 26, I went to Malta to the movie matinee with Janice Reichely. The movie was titled “Mary Poppins,” and it was a little different than the original version with different actors that before. (Julie Andrews was the original Mary Poppins.) It was a good, wholesome, movie. We then attended the biscuit and gravy brunch at the Malta Senior Center and then went shopping after that. Janet and Curt then hosted a dinner for Lloyd D. and I. It was a nice day.
Jeanie Green flew to Florida for a tour that was hosted by Dani Hill (the former owner of Promises in Malta.)
Cindy Clark (of Loring) was pastor at the Whitewater Lutheran Church on Sunday and did a wonderful job.
Good news: Snow is gone (written ahead of the winter storm that socked the area Sunday.) A bitter cold chinook wind melted all the snow, but the temperature is still cold (-11 Monday morning, Feb. 4.) The school buses, mail trucks, UPS and FedX trucks keep running almost every day.
Recently, I met Hector Murdock, who is related to our families in Whitewater, and he has been in the National Guard and is now being deployed to active duty. He is going to Texas for basic training. Hector, you are in our thoughts and prayers and I hope that you return home to Whitewater safely.
Lastly, here is a food rant: Gelatin (Jello) is made from cattle hooves! I think that I will eat some anyway.
Take care,
Helen A.
