Montana Veterans Affairs

1-17. Judy Loendorf and/or Steve Mulonet, Service Officers for the Montana Veterans Affairs will be visiting Malta City Hall on Thursday, January 17, from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. to meet with Veterans who are interested in applying for benefits. If you are interested in applying for benefits, please bring a copy of your discharge paperwork with you.

Free Let’s Control It Training

1-17. There will be a Responsible Alcohol Sales and Service training Thursday, January 17, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the lower level of the Phillips County Coalition for Healthy Choices Building at 101 S. 7th St West. (The Old St. Mary’s School) The training is free of charge. Registration is required; please call Carol Smith or Sonia Young at 654-2378.

Kiwanis pull tabs

1-17. On Thursday, January 17, Malta Kiwanis will be collecting pull tabs from aluminum cans collected by elementary students. Pull tabs should be taken to the school and then they will be recycled.

Knights of Columbus Free Throw

1-20. Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship, for boys and girls ages 9-14, Sunday, January 20 at the Malta Elementary Gym. Doors open 12:30 p.m. and shoot begins 1:30 p.m. 654-7803 or 658-2613.

MRGJ Annual Meeting

1-22. The Milk River Gospel Jamboree Annual Meeting will be Tuesday, January 22 at 7 p.m. at Malta Community Church. Making plans for June Jamboree.

Mustang Foundation Annual Meeting

1-22. The Mustang Foundation Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 22, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the GN Lodge Room. The public is invited to attend.

Kiwanis Meeting

1-22. Malta Kiwanis will meet on Tuesday, January 22 at 6 p.m. at Westside Restaurant. Also time to finalize MHS speech meet lunch time.

PhillCo Annual Meeting

1-23. The PhillCo Economic Growth Council announces their Annual Meeting of economic growth in Phillips County, Wednesday, January 23 at the Great Northern Lodge Room starting at 5:30 p.m.

Senior Center Biscuits & Gravy

1-26 The Malta Senior Center will be hosting a free-will offering, biscuit and gravy meal on Saturday, January 26 and everyone is welcome. Money raised will help defray costs of Senior Center building updates.

Ice Classic Fishing Tourney

1-26. The Ice Classic Fishing Tourney at Nelson Reservoir gets underway on Saturday, January 26, with sign in starting the night before, Friday, January 25, at 4 p.m. at the Buffalo Barn. For more information call 406-654-2911.
