One Nation, Under God

Dodson News for September 19, 2018

The weather has certainly changed to its fall mode. Temperatures are down and we are continuing to get little rain showers. So far, we have not had a hard frost, and today I was standing looking out my kitchen window and the yellow leaves were gently falling and blowing across the lawn. Sorry that some of the farmers have not been able to finish harvesting yet and have green spots that need some more sunlight. We are happy that we are still having warm days by afternoon yet.

The school kids are getting into their many sports and extra activities with many cross country meets as far away as Frazer and Wolf Point.

And next week is Native American Week and this year will be held on the reservation at Snake Butte and Mission Canyon September 24 thru 28 Then, starting in October, there will be basketball.

Condolences are sent to all the families of Frances Slade and Dick McNamara. Frances was well-known by many here in Dodson and Dick grew up here where his dad was drayman for many years. They are in our thoughts and prayers.

Polly and Edward Solberg were pleasantly surprised this week when relatives from Perham, Minn., called they were in route through Dodson and would like to stop for a quick visit, which they did and had an early supper with the Solberg's. It is so nice when we get to see people unexpectedly we have not seen for some time.

Birthday greetings are sent to all Birthday people this week, including James Weigand and anniversary congratulations to Nick and Wendy Hopkins.

Home isn't the place you are, it's the people you're with.

A tip of the hat to everyone for a good week.
