On June 21, Jeanette Heinle scored 8,720 which earned her first place, Clair Waters took second with 7,490 and the traveling prize went to Jeanette and Clarence Jacobs. Clair and Jeanette also scored 1,000 aces.
Hi-Line Whist
Tuesday, June 19 saw Pearl and Francis sweep all three games, 13-1, 13-10 and 16-3, over Clara and Lois to maintain an unblemished record.
"We set them a lot and they said 'just wait until Friday'," said Pearl.
On Friday, June 22, Clara and Lois enacted their revenge over Francis and Pearl, winning both contests played on the day, 15-2 and 16-9.
"They weren't kidding as they really took us to the cleaners," Pearl reported.
