Verona "June" Eklund

MALTA - Verona "June" Eklund, 92, passed away on June 12, 2018, from natural causes at Hi-Line Retirement Center.

Memorial services were Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at the Saco Lutheran Church. Internment of ashes was at Grandview Cemetery Saco, Mont., following the services. Condolences maybe left at http://www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com.

Verona "June" Eklund was born June 11, 1926, to Carrol and Hazel (Kapphan) Young in Saco, Mont. She grew up in the Saco area and graduated high school there. June married Chris Pacadena on July 26, 1943, in Washington. They had a daughter Vicki Rae. Because of circumstances beyond her control, she allowed Vicki to be raised by her father in California. June married Adolph Eklund on September 13, 1947, in Great Falls, Mont. They made their family home near Cole Ponds North West of Saco with their sons Daniel "Tom", and Richard.

June was a homemaker and helped with the animals on the family farm. She also helped Adolph on his mail route if the weather was okay. June and Adolph enjoyed camping and fishing with their family. June loved baking, knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint. June was also very active with the youth in her area.

June is survived by her children Vicki Bermodes, Richard (Joyce) Flom, and Daniel "Tom" (Eva) Young, and sisters, Betty Flom, and Donna Kirkaldie. She is also survived by numerous grand and great-grandchildren.

June was preceded in death by her parents Carrol and Hazel Young, Husband Adolph Eklund, son John Eklund, sisters Pearl Skinner, Dorothy Scheffelmaer, Carol Jean "Kitty" Scheffelmaer; and brothers Calvin Young and Daniel Lee Young.
