Saco students travel to Dallas for conference

Christopher DePuydt, Chandler Pippin, Jada Sudbrack, and Devon Salveson were among the 6,000 students, advisors, and guests from across the United States to participate in the 52nd National Leadership Conference of Business Professionals of America in Dallas, TX. DePuydt earned the right to take the stage at Nationals, placing fifth in Banking and Finance.

In addition, DePuydt and Sudbrack received the Ambassador Torch Award, a program designed to promote professionalism and leadership in both career development and personal growth. Students must complete activities in the seven Torch categories--Leadership; Service; Cooperation; Knowledge; Friendship; Love, Hope, Faith; and Patriotism.

The National Leadership Conference is a culmination of the hard work and effort put in by members throughout the year. It brings students from across the country together to participate, network, and compete. Activities included general sessions with keynote speakers, business meetings, leadership development workshops, contests, election of national officers, and tours of Dallas sights and attractions! The highlights of the conference included a Day of Service volunteer event, Walk for Special Olympics, leadership advancement workshops, and the presentation of the awards to the winners of the national competitions.
