One Nation, Under God

Dodson News for May 23, 2018

Terri Cole runs in the Montana Women's Run held in Billings every year and won first place in her age division. Terri said there are about 7,500 women who run every year.

Polly Solberg was in Fairfield and Great Falls to visit brother Bert's family and attending great nephew Levi's regional track meet in which he placed well in several different activities. She also joined son Tim and wife Heidi at the Special Olympics in Great Falls to watch their daughter Amanda participate. While in Great Falls she also visited her brother Bert at the nursing home there and with Sid and Merrimae Solberg.

A total of 120 crosses were put up at the Dodson Cemetery in honor of the veterans thanks to the help of Barbara Trembley, Dean Kienenberger, Glen Dolphay and also to Bobby Dolphay who opened a stubborn door so we could get to the crosses. That ground at the cemetery never seems to get any softer! We started a list of more crosses needed for next year.

Get well wishes are extended to Steve Tremblay who had his appendix removed in a quick and unexpected operation.

Dora Henry had a bad day when she had a flat tire on her riding mower and then a flat tire on her pickup on her way in from the dumps. One of the times there seemed to be no traffic on the south road, after deciding she could not walk the distance, she limped home on the flat. Glen Dolphay was again the man in the white hat to come and take the flat off so Dora could have repairs made. Thanks, Glen, from an old lady. At least I did not have several police cars after me as was the case in a chase down Highway 2 on Tuesday evening when another car was running on its rims.

The Dodson school held their graduation on Friday evening after a cold and rainy day, but we can always use the moisture despite all the water we had such a short time ago.

A Happy Birthday shout to all having a birthday this week, including Kari Kienenberger and Helen Wiederick.

People ask how I feel about getting old. I tell them I have the same question. I'm learning as I go.

Have a good week and celebrate a safe Memorial Day! Isn't all this green grass and warm weather wonderful? ( Even with all the happy little yellow flowers we seem to have in abundance this year.)
