One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News and Opinion for May 9, 2018

International News: Sympathy to the refugees on the Mexican border (many women and children.) There should be some way to help them? My cousin, Ray Austin, lives in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Hello to him.

Locally, spring and school activities are here. The Whitewater School Carnival was a success…for me too. I played Bingo and won a waffle iron! It works well and has a snowflake on each waffle. It is from the movie Frozen (fun!)

Miriam Sanguins attended a drivers training instruction class. She teaches drivers education in Turner in the summer. Miriam is also the Whitewater music teacher. She directed the spring school concert which was wonderful. A cupcake lunch followed.

Last week was lucky for me. I played Albertsons Monopoly game and won $5. How fun, even though it took patience.

Congratulations to Whitewater High School track and golf teams and the staff of the Penguin Press newsletter. Good work.

It is May; happy birthday to all May birthdays and happy Mother’s Day to all mothers and grandmothers.

Reminder: Baccalaureate at 6 p.m. and graduation in Whitewater on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 7 p.m. Saco’s graduation is Saturday, May 19 at 2 p.m.

Congratulations to all graduates, especially my graduates, especially my granddaughter, Challise Young of Saco.

Take care and enjoy the spring!

Helen A.
